Eric already mentioned rules and sponsorship for the power adder choice. Many classes have turbo cars at a disadvantage. Either with weight, turbo size or no brake allowed. But the tranbrake is a good point though. A tranbrake is going knock off quite a bit of time on the auto cars. As for pricing you can get into a blower kit cheap. If you do the kit and only the kit it can stay cheap. But if you're like most people who don't stop modding, the prices are pretty damn close. My single comes with a k member, tubular radiator support, headers, mid pipe and an expansion tank that doesn't need to be replaced because it leaks. Not to knock, but it seems to be an added cost for a lot people after the blower purchase (paxton is it)? Also the only kit on the market that I know of that has an option for either an air to air or air to water intercooler. But the exhaust alone can cost you $1000+ afterwards. Then add about another $750 for the included suspension components. 2-250ish for an expansion tank? How much have you really saved? If you have a mod addiction it may not be much if any. Most folks that go F/I, don't stop w the initial purchase of the power adder. Something to keep in mind.
