[QUOTE="coposrv, post: 16216469, member: 63412"] Wife and I are flying to FLA Monday morning to meet friends for a golf trip. Got a call from a long time friend of mine (went to HS together, we play golf together every Wednesday afternoon) who is a PM for a mid-large resi builder. They have an electrical company they use pretty religiously but they’re unable to tackle all of their work. The primary electric co. they use is able to do what’s currently contracted but they have quite a bit coming up and a project next week that needs to be roughed. (4 bedroom 3 bath 3 car garage 3200sq ft home) This project is supposed to be an “in” with them and his bosses. My friend pat has been trying to get me into some of their larger projects. And I’ve been after them for at least a year or so. I asked what happened that they had no backup and was told a second smaller electrical company they use sometimes was contracted already but there was a falling out between the much older absentee owner and the PM currently running it and they don’t want to deal with that mess of a company anymore. So, Skip the vaca and work on the business or take the week off and hope the bid invitations are still there? If this was just another GC I wouldn’t even consider it but this scenario is a little different considering a close relationship with people well established there. They do 20mm a year and their current go-to electrical company doesn’t want to grow any larger than they are now. I want to grow, badly, My father owns an electrical firm and is willing to loan me capitol and labor if these projects require more than my current resources allow.
