Well, if you believe what has already been written, then no, that is Shelby's own ground up design and not the one that has been discussed as the next top dog Mustang. He is still suppossedly releasing a totally seperate car than that one using the 05 platform and some variation of the Ford GT motor. Actually, until recently Shelby actually had 2 prototypes in the works of his own design, but I have read that he has since canceled the other car in favor of that one in the link. So what you have is one car that looks to be the next incarnation of the Shelby (427) Cobra, and a yet to be unveiled Mustang that has been "Shelbyfied." Also, SVT has been telling people that they will indeed be represented at the upcoming show, so you are right in that aspect that it appears there will be a second car unveiled as well. There seems to be a lot of confusion over various names. Without further clarification from the manufacturers you have the Shelby Cobra (the car in the link) The Shelby Mustang Cobra/GT 500 etc., (the car he is doing with Ford) and the SVT Mustang/Cobra/GT 350 etc. So when someone uses the generic term "Cobra" they could now easily be speaking of any of 3 potentional cars. And if things aren't confusing enough there are rumors of a NA 5.4 in the works that may be akin to something of a special edition. If that proves to be true you could see a lineup that goes something like this: V6, V8, NA 5.4 (GT350??), SVT, Shelby(GT500??)
