Spark plug wells scrubbing/cleaning

What is a good way of cleaning out the spark plug wells on our cars? I sprayed them with brake cleaner and blew out with compressed air then removed the plugs(changing plugs out) is there a good way of scrubbing them out?

Buddy of mine uses a chaser to remove anti-sieze, oil crud, antifreeze crust etc from the threads. I've used a rag wrapped on a wooden dowel but I've never tried to get them perfectly clean.
