I am confused as to why these cars require the high dollar iridium plugs. I can understand why the OEM plugs are iridium. The manufacturers want plugs that last 50,000+ miles. My old '87 Buick T-Type ran just fine with one heat range colder $3 plugs. It pulled way more boost than these cars do. Yes, it had a lower compression engine, but I ran over 25 lbs of boost in low gear and slowly pulled the boost and timing back as it went through the gears. What am I missing?
I figured out why they have the high dollar plugs - 50,000 mile emission warranty.
