On the first somewhat serious attempt they hit like 280...according to them. That wasn't a full pass, just like a 80% to see how things go type pass. Next pass, they hit 305 or so, but had some serious side wind that basically moved the car 6 foot over on the top end. The driver was a little scared and they were thinking of just taking those two passes and calling it a 294 record of whatever the math was. The driver decided to make one more pass and that's the 331 pass you see.
and.... THEY LIED!!!!!!!! Consider them bankrupt because they just majorly ****ed up. You lie on the internet and you will get called out. That's just normal stuff. You attempt to lie about breaking a world record, you will get caught. Where to start? Right away there was some "how is that possible" talk, but we all saw the video and almost everyone fell for it. Next, I'll just steal this text from reddit and explain it after the video. _______________ I think it is important to give credit to the guy who first uncovered this, a friend of mine named Jey Cee who goes by @jey_._cee on Instagram. He has long been involved with the Koenigsegg community/research and was the first skeptic to raise the alarm that this 331mph run might be fraudulent. He was the one who initially crunched the numbers, looking at both the medians and the spacing between dashed lines on the road, skimming the video frame-by-frame. His work was then brought to a wider audience's attention through the Koenigsegg 4 Life Facebook group (22,000 members) and subsequently popularized by major pages on Instagram, namely @koenigsegg.registry and @ghostsquadron.koenigsegg. It is after this popularization that Tim (Shmee150) picked up on the topic and made this video. Tim does an excellent job of explaining everything, I just thought I'd make sure there is credit given where credit is due. _________________ The video with Tim, aka Shmee So the above text, we have videos of both the Agera RS setting it's record and the Tuatara claiming 331 at the exact same spot. Jay Cee looked at both those videos and realized some oddities. Said highway has a U-turn area every 1.5 miles or so. SSC has turned off comments from their most recent instagram post after Shmee, and two other large YTers all made videos calling them out.
