Symptoms of Failing Crank Sensor?

I posted recently about a P0300 code. I think i've narrowed it down to the crank sensor. But before i order a new one i just want to make sure it won't be a waste of my time. Any comments on how a failing crank sensor would affect my car would be much appreciated.

FYI the symptoms of my car are : 97 cobra w/vortech V1. No power and lots of misses at WOT and i get no boost. Sometimes feels like it wants to die at idle.

errr uhh... sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the exact same thing happened to my car... right after i blew a piston.

lol damn i hope not, the block was just replaced. 160 miles on the tripometer. I haven't even been through the breakin period. Haven't even been over 4k rpm yet :shrug:

Did you hear knock at all? Because i don't hear anything coming from the engine itself.

Lets hope this isn't the case as i don't want to wait for ANOTHER engine;-)
