Synthetic Oil?

I just got the 03 Cobra and I was wondering whether or not I should use Mobil 1 synthetic on my first oil change? I've read here and elsewhere that people tend to use synthetic after a certain mile reading. What are the benefits/drawbacks of this and at what miles do you switch?

This subject has been gone over many times in a variety of threads. Do a search on it and you will get all your questions answered. That said, do not go to synthetic right away. The engine needs time to seat certain components e.g. rings, and they will not do so properly with a synthetic oil. Not enough friction. Wait until about 3-5 K miles before going to a synthetic.
