The op’s quoted article is from the car and driver article iirc. Same day same drag race looks like this (from the edmunds video which is where they shared the footage/coverage with car and driver I think based on pictures looking like same cars) That’s not 1/10th, that’s a nearly perfectly driven zl1 1le losing its ass to a gt500 driven averagely to well. That’s 3/4 to 1 second. Skip frame it from 4:17 to 4:18. The gt500 has crossed (off camera at like 4:17.85 and the zl1 and red eye are like 4:18.8 4:18.9 It’s honestly about a 1 second delta and your can see the zl1 leaves first and has the best 60ft followed by the demon. *edit redeye* (I wrote that above, was on autopilot here). The gt500 has the worst reaction and seemingly 60ft and I bet it’s because the launch control has that 1 sec delay crap. Get a hot shoe in a gt500 that reacts quicker and knows to launch lower on shitty surface Example: just because it can do 3400rpm doesn’t mean every drag should be from 3400. The Vegas event drag strip press test was seeing the cars set at 1400rpm and still had spin.
