LOL! I'll take our antiquated and "less desirable" cars over the new one any day! I still visit, mainly because I remember what it USED TO BE. Having been a member for over 8 years, I've seen a LOT of change. It's no longer a place where everyone can freely exchange ideas. Instead, it's become the personal platform of one very controlling individual. I appreciate reasonable moderation to keep discussons civil and focused, but it's become increasingly clear dissenting opinions are no longer welcome. Merciless enforcement of what one person's view of "right" and flippant/condescending dismissal of anyone who disagrees have become the norm. Making a big deal of treating others with respect and civility, while personally failing on both counts when someone disagrees with you is hypocritical, to say the least. Wielding the "banhammer" without any recourse, ability to appeal, or hope of return is wrong. A number of "old timers" with whom I enjoyed interacting are no longer there because they were perma-banned. Private inquiries on their behalf go nowhere, because "no banned members will ever be reinstated." Lifetime bans for disagreeing with "moderation style" are over-the-top and indicate deep-seated insecurities. I've always been good with different strokes for different folks, but not the need to constantly remind oneself and everyone else why whatever you have is the best. It makes for some pretty humorous rationalizations, though. A recent example is the claim that a 495HP N/A Stingray bested a 760HP S/C GT500 in a 1/2-mile drag race because of, get this, dust! (Nevermind, both cars contended with exactly the same "unprepped" and "dusty" conditions.) Ironically, a different article about the new GT500 beating a C8 was trumpeted only a few months ago, with no mention of the obvious mismatch between 495HP N/A and 760HP S/C specimens, that made the win less-than-brag-worthy. Lest anyone believe I'm biased in Chevy's favor, I don't like either car!
