[QUOTE="old01cobra, post: 16203821, member: 141196"] Its not that it’s better or worse to switch head units it’s about what your goal is. You’re talking about switching to a turbo. Youll make 600+whp with the blower you have depending how you spin it and how it’s supported. Ti trims will make 800+rwhp jt ysi will make 1000+whp with proper supporting mods etc. You are talking about a turbo swap. Definitely not worth it for 500whp. From the cars I’ve seen and been around blowers are more practical with better street manners/power bands from 1200whp down anything over that it’s becoming a nearly dedicated track car and a turbo setup will be more practical. On our generation cars... Blower practicality on our cars ends with f1x and ysi’s anything over that our little 4.6s don’t have the power to spin them. Then to beat a f1x or ysi you’ll need a turbo bigger than a 76mm or twins then you’ll have lag lag lag or plumbing weight and plumbing lol. So if you live in Texas get a big turbo but if you live in every other state where a 1/4 mile straight is all you have with no roads ever extending 1.5 + miles straight with no traffic like Texas has keep the blower.
