Friday/Saturday trip up north. My ten year old and I walked the woods and scoped out hunting spots. Climbing a double tree stand for a great vantage point. Nature is hard at work, most ignoring our presence. Chipmunks everywhere, the true comedians of the forest. The highpoint was our first sighting of a Fisher. The Fisher darted through the woods like a Ninja! We witnessed about a 100 yard display. We found a adult Garder snake, painted turtle that hissed when picked up, spotted salamander, first black squirrel I ever seen up north, several very healthy grays, and no less then 50 deer. Discovered an old "papple" tree with less then ten apples. Papples taste between a pear and an apple. Great weather for hiking! Revisited gnome the boys put up last year.
