I own a 900 hp GT500. I have driven every year of GT500 with almost every conceivable mod/configuration. I have owned a S550, drive a number of them in both NA and power adder configs. Long story short, the S550 is a superior car in every way. It rides better, handles better, loves reasonable power adders (particularly with an auto!). The NA S550's are gutless on the bottom end. A blower makes a huge difference. The collectability thing....only if you're going to sell it when you're 100 and you're about 30 now. There were over 50,000 GT500s made. You can buy a nice 13-14 for less than $55k now. 2011-12s are in the low to mid 40s. (But a '12 if you go that route so you don't have the first year of that engine. Nothing wrong with the '11, but just hedge your bets). If I were going to buy another GT500 it would without a doubt be a '12 with Performance Pack. If I were going to buy a S550, it would be a '16 or '17 auto. Our '15 runs mid 9's with our blower kit on it and no suspension work. Just driveshaft and axles. Good luck.
