Why are gears not popular with these cars?

I ran 410's in my 01 cobra, but I have no idea what to expect with the 410's in the 03.

Does the stock pullied eaton wrap up quick enough to work with 410's?
Im planning on going with a 2.80 soon and straight axle.

What about dropping to 3.27 and only having to shift 3 times in the 1/4?
Just a thought there, not a suggestion.
