What does a ticking time bomb have to do with anything? He can nab a used termintor shortblock to toss under all that if/when it goes. not a big deal.

Not everyone is willing to take on a project or spend a a lot of money on a car they just bought. Some people just want to buy a car and drive it. Also, 8.5:1 compression is okay, but I would increase it to around 9.3:1 for the PD blower.

I was looking at a mmr shortblock just to be cautious.

I would have TSS or Lethal detune it and add water meth immediately after purchase though just for better measure. Just wondering looking for some good second opinions.

The car doesn't need to be detuned, what it needs is a pulley change and the cams to be removed.

There are many respectable shops in Texas, buy parts from MMR or Mod Max and have the engine built locally.
