Get a 2001 GT Bullitt, seriously. If he gets an 01 Bullitt, the SN-95 Cobra is only marginally faster, stock vs stock. +1, Mach's are very reasonable in price now. and are also insane maintenance hogs. I daily drove two different fox bodies over a period of 3-4 years, I'll never do it again. Daily driving a fox body is the worst idea in the world. My '96 Cobra consumed quite a bit of oil. I always had to add at least a quart of oil or two between oil changes. I had a 96 Cobra and it wouldn't keep cool for anything, but then again I live in a state that gets really hot weather. Stupid ford for releasing a cooling TSB instead of a recall :bash: I ditched my '96 Cobra for my '01 Bullitt without thinking twice about it. IMO, the new edge body style looks better. I don't know what it is about the interior but for some reason my '01 Bullitt interior rattles way less than my SN95 Cobra did. My SN95 was a horrible rattle trap. For all around town kind of driving, I found that my Bullitt was more fun to drive then the Cobra. The 2v Bullitt has more usable low end torque and is more fun to drive around town. Everytime I drove the Cobra I had to rev the piss out of it just to be able to have fun with the car. I had 4.30's on my Cobra too and it still didn't make up for the serious lack of low end torque on the 96-98 Cobras. I'd suggest picking up a 2001 Bullitt, you can find them for under 10k now and are tons better than a standard GT. It has the better seats, cobra brakes, sub frame connectors, better intake than the standard GT, underdrive pullies, and better springs/shocks. There just wasn't any comparison between my 1996 Cobra and my 2001 Bullitt. For the type of driving that I do, the Bullitt is just a better all around car hands down.
