X-Pipe and H-Pipe????

What is the difference in performance between the X-pipe and the H-pipe. I am seeing most people going to X-pipe with their Cobra's these days and wanted to know why. I had a 98 Cobra with offroad H-pipe and I personally thought it sounded better than an X-pipe. I don't want to start a debate in which sounds better, I would just like to know the facts. :read:

I would be interested in knowing more about the both of them too, as I have not taken the plunge for my exhaust yet.

From what i've been told, the X pipe goes best with a non chambered free flowing exhaust aka Borla, Magnaflow, Bassani etc. And the H pipe goes best with chambered mufflers aka Flowmaster etc. And from I've seen on the different boards flowmaster doesnt really gain any horsepower like the free flowing mufflers do. I havent heard it personally but i've been told that a off-road H pipe and a muffler like Magnaflow's Magnapack sounds like crap. I'd agree that the off road H and flowmasters do sound good but I bet i get just as many complements from my exhaust on my GT.

Generally speaking the x-pipe is a higher pitch than the
h-pipe, I like the sound of the h-pipe, its a matter of
preference.
