LOL. I did that once when our kids were much younger. I saw one similar to yours trying to cross an interstate exit road (speed limit 50). My wife thought I was crazy parking the car and venturing out into the traffic, which was not really bad. I grabbed the turtle, had my daughter hold it, drove a couple of miles to a grassy area and let him lose. The kids were ecstatic that we saved that turtle from a certain death.
They're crossing the roads here all the time and just stop and hide when a cars coming by. I usually pick them up and put them in the grass.
the largest open face granite quarry in the world is in NC. They've got a little path you can drive around up to the top and look down on the operation, cool to see
