Or at least thats what I think....

Car is mostly stock
GT500 axleback
Ford Racing after cat X-Pipe(retains factory cats)

So I took the new 2013 Mustang GT to my shop and had it put on the dyno today. The pulls have to be made in 5th because that is the 1:1 gear in the MT-82 manual that ford puts in the cars.It put down 375RWHP/362RWTQ Corrected at 6k RPMS since the speed limiter hits at 6k not the redline of 7k in 5th. The car was making more power but the car basically says no more at 145 which is 6k in 5th. The only way to remove the speed limiter is to get it tuned which will void the warranty and I'm not going to cross that bridge until it's blower time.

copied and pasted from another non-mustang board. But I'm still fairly happy with the results

I just had mine on the dyno as well last Saturday. In 5th letting off at 6100rpm(150mph) it made 365whp/364wtq in 100* weather.

Perfect to me its louder than stock by a fair bit but not obnoxious either. You really can't here it at cruising speed on the highway which is exactly what I wanted you can YouTube exactly what it sounds like.

Numbers look good. Sucks to hear you have to wait on your MGW shifter. I thought they were stocking them now.

i dont know why your limited at 6k in your car...i have redlined on the street many times in 5th gear with no issues...thats at 155mph give or take a few for RPM error, but speed was verified with gps.

not sure how your able to 150mph is 6100rpm in 5th gear with 3:31's, if you had 3:73's then that might be why.

You don't have to do a pull in the 1:1 gear. That will give the most accurate results, but they dyno will pick up on what the gearing is and everything. 4th would have given you the desired results. Also, you might be able to go down to ford and see if one of the techs could remove the limiter for you possibly?

your math is backwards, the Taller (numerically lower) the gear ratio, the Higher your top speed capability, and therefore Less RPM is needed for the same speed.

With 3.31's, 145 (OP's claimed governor) hits right at 6k, with 3.73's it would hit around 6800... (done with the first gear ratio calculator i could find)

the weird thing is that hes limited to 145 and not the government mandated (or so i believe) 155

Just what Tracy(racerat) told me and I witnessed on the RPM on the Dyno as I was standing next to it.
