Here is an update on the number produced so far

A couple of weeks back I posted the numbers for this year. Here is that summary as of 7/17

MOD YR - 2013
UNSCHD COUNT - 2294
INPLNT COUNT - 454
MEMO COUNT - 1
INTRAN COUNT - 109
DEMO COUNT - 2
STOCK COUNT - 185
UNIT 12 SALES COUNT - 680
COUNT - 3725

The summary there is that, at the time, 1,431 were produced or in production. The total target for the year was roughly 3,725.

Fast forward to today. Here is the summary as of 8/1:

MOD YR - 2013
UNSCHD COUNT - 2095
INPLNT COUNT - 610
MEMO COUNT - 1
INTRAN COUNT - 183
DEMO COUNT - 2
STOCK COUNT - 138
UNIT 12 SALES COUNT - 867
COUNT - 3896

So that means 1801 have been produced or are in the plant now. I also asked what "UNIT 12 SALES" means. And he said it just means how many they have sold this calendar year. So at this point, 867 Cobras have been sold.

My car is one of the 610 in the plant (but was just sent there today), so I guess I can assume that my Cobra will have a number in the range of roughly 17xx.

Nope. Since there is only 1 of those, I didn't really ask since it obviously seems a little unique.

And thanks for the well wishes. My birthday is 8/30, I'll be 38, and my car is being produced on 8/3.

I have my fingers crossed that I get it by then.

Concerning "UNIT 12 SALES", does this number include the unsold cars that are on the dealers lots?

No. My take is that the number is only cars that have actually been sold to customers.

Yes, I assume that means unsold cars sitting on dealer lots. This almost exactly matches what you see on cars.com, so I am guessing this is what it means.

It looks like a few more are now being made. I am not sure what to make of it. But it appears to me that Ford is currently set to produce 2,095 + 1,801 = 3,896.

So we'll see I guess.

Because there is 2100 unscheduled, dealers have already ordered them but there just sitting in the order banks.

Because 2095 are already ordered, waiting to be scheduled and built. Show me another vehicle that has sold approximately 85% of the available stock in this short of time. I would guess most of the ones on dealers lots that haven't been sold are asking high ADM's. I have been told by several very good sources, that the average time on the Dealers Lot for non ADM cars is less than 72 hours.

Looking at the change from 7/17 - 8/1, it looks like production of the cars currently in queue would be complete on Feb 28th 2013. Since the total number increased from 3725 to 3896 it appears that allocations are still being filled which could push production out further.

Which would make sense based on the ability to "order" one will end around thanks giving- and being able to order a 2014 in Spring of 2013.

Well I sure hope mine comes before October or I'll say eff it and change the order for a 14 and get the 1st allocation and hold them to it. We shall see.
