I haven't been around on the forum recently and I'm about to change my transmission fluid(stock T-56) and was wondering what is now regarded as the best oil for it, or any new ones that look promising? Also, how much is needed to refill it?

Prolly not getting alot of replies because this has been beating to death. A "search" will show many many debates on this subject. Trying to find the exact right answer on this is just as bad as how much oil are engines should run 6 or 7qts.

The most popular choices seems to be the GM or Pennzoil synchromesh, Royal Purple synchromax, moibil 1 ATF, and Amsoil ATF. Depending how much you get out of your tranny it will take 3.75-4.1 qts.

Does mobil 1 make a regular ATF or is it just the full synthetic?

Are you kidding me? Look at the bottle! If it says Mobil 1, then it will be some form of synthetic, if it just says MOBIL, the it is probably just dino oil.

Like my thread mentioned earlier...
HUGE fan of Pennzoil Synchromesh!
