lol that was awesome. god just think, in 26 years the Mustang GT has doubled in HP, gained almost 2 seconds in the 1/4, and tripled in price!

Very entertaining to watch, I love reading mag articles and such on 80's cars. The 1/4 mile times seemed faster than they should have been for all of the cars.

I LOLed!!

Funny seeing the old "Quadra-Bind" suspension doing it's classic snap over steer thing.

I wonder if they used different drivers at Pocono, the Mustang driver was all over the place, definitely not smooth.:dw::nonono:

I remember when I got my first car, a 1984 Z28, and wishing it was the H.O. so I would have had 190 hp instead of 150, lol.

that 1/4 mile time is the fastes i`ve seen for any 80s or 90s mustang, by far.....is this a regular time for an 85 stang?

I have owned most of these cars when they were new (yea I'm old lol) and my 85GT had 308 gears and ran 14.3@97 when it was new. My friend had a 2.73 car and he went 14.5. I also had a new 86gt with 308s and it ran 14.6.
I had an 85 Iroc that ran high 14s.
My friend had an 87 Iroc 305 TPI 5 speed that ran 14.6 and he also had an 87 with a 5.7 that ran 14.2 and 13.9 with just some free stuff and advancing the timing.
I have also owned 7 Turbo buicks and they were all very low 14 second cars when stock but I have seen stock ones run in the high 13s.

What I think is funny now is that we thought these cars were blazing fast.:lol1:

Back in 89 My 85GT went high 10s at 126 and most of my friends were afraid to ride in the car. now a new car with bolt ons will run that but back then it was fast.

Its pretty sad when I think about it, I had a 2000 Mustang Gt vert that ran mid 14's stock and with a few mild bolt ons I BARELY got a 13.8 out of it, crazy that a car 15 years newer isnt really faster than a mustang from the mid 80's

My 98 GT 5 speed with catback, K&N and shirfter I ran 14.5-14.6 at 95-96MPH. Sad that it was really no better than a 85 GT lol. But i didn't have it long

Id like to see a graph with three lines on it. One that shows the power output of each MY mustang, one that shows the ET's of each year and one that shows the price.
