That's it right there. The funny thing is that the 87/88 cars were faster. My wifes 88 automatic car went 14.1 (I don't know how) and my friends 5 speed went 13.9. That's faster then allot of the 99-00 Cobras.
The best thing about the 5.0L cars was that anybody could work on them and they were cheap to mod.

My buddy had a factory freak 91 lx 5spd...ran 13.4s with nothing but 2chambr flows welded in....beating the piss out of it though. I drove it once and it was one of the strongest stock 5.0s I ever drove.

I have owned most of these cars when they were new (yea I'm old lol) and my 85GT had 308 gears and ran 14.3@97 when it was new. My friend had a 2.73 car and he went 14.5. I also had a new 86gt with 308s and it ran 14.6.
I had an 85 Iroc that ran high 14s.
My friend had an 87 Iroc 305 TPI 5 speed that ran 14.6 and he also had an 87 with a 5.7 that ran 14.2 and 13.9 with just some free stuff and advancing the timing.
I have also owned 7 Turbo buicks and they were all very low 14 second cars when stock but I have seen stock ones run in the high 13s.

What I think is funny now is that we thought these cars were blazing fast.:lol1:

Back in 89 My 85GT went high 10s at 126 and most of my friends were afraid to ride in the car. now a new car with bolt ons will run that but back then it was fast.

That's.....actually pretty awesome man!

Wow, what a great vid! Sure brings back the memories ...

Back in the day I had 5 different new Fox body's, raced them all. One was an 85 GT, it consistently beat the new GM F-body's of that era.

But the times in the vid were overly optimistic, that much I know is a fact. 100% bone stock 85 GT's were high 14" cars at best, no way your going to hit low 14's the way you got them from the dealer.

And yes, I knew how to drive them ... ;-)
