Please lets keep this serious!

About a week and half ago I was helping a friend move, one of her friends I never met before was coming over to help pack up the house. So there is a time where the friend and I are the only one in the house and she says "I am not trying to freak you out but I am a medium, I had to do a cleansing of this house because a bad spirit was bothering XXXX's son".

I find that stuff fascinating. So she takes me to the kid's room and she is telling me about it. All of a sudden I get this VERY hot flash come over me and my thighs are on fire with that sensation like your hand falls asleep. I tell the friend "I need to get out of this room, my thighs are on fire right now!".

She smiles and says "I know, there are 3 spirits wanting to reach out to you right now". Once she said that the hot flash and the thigh tingling went away immediately. So I said "Well who is it?". She asks "who is the old man about 5'7, very round belly, pure white hair, who died recently? You guys used to talk fishing all the time". My ex-wife to be's grandfather fit that to a tee and he died 16 mths ago. I thought the world of this guy. She went into greater detail that I will keep private but there is no question she was not pulling my leg. He was passing along a message to me and whats funny is what has to "say" seems to really be becoming more apparent in real life.

The other 2 "spirits" weren't as active as Papa was but what we could make of it that it was my great grandmother who was alive till I was 28 and a high school classmate who died 2.5 yrs ago.

That suicide thread made me think to write this one because this classmate died of suspicious circumstances that they termed an accidental overdose.

I saw the same person the next day at the house and she said that young man was talking more. It became more apparent that it really was the classmate because he was telling her that he died and people had questions, his death was not accidental (I didn't tell her a thing about his story) but she said he was in a lot of pain and just wanted to end the pain. It was real eye opening.

Anyone else have a similar story?

Damn dude that's freaking insane. I have never once seen a ghost, felt spiritual vibes or any of that. BUT, my family is in the funeral business, 60 years this year. My grandfather has been doing it his whole life and he too has NEVER once seen a ghost, heard a spirit, bla bla or anything like that. This lady who does the hair though for the deceased woman, her name is Carol and she is a "psychic". She always claims to feel spirits from the bodies and I can't remember some of the things, but she is always spot on.

My Aunt used to own a restaurant in the same town. My Aunt is a little out there and always claimed to see 2 ghosts. One a little girl, and one a man is his 30's wearing a suit and a hat, like an old style hat from the 1930's. My Aunt said she would see both of them, they would watch her cook, and they would walk through walls and she only saw them in the basement.

Carol went there and said that back in the 1930's, a mob owned the restaurant, the guy was murdered and his body was thrown in the freezer for a while to be hidden. It's his spirit that is supposedly at the restaurant. I forgot what the little girls story was.

One time at the restaurant it was in the morning and my Aunt's lawyer who is a friend of my fathers went there to have a business meeting with her. He told her to make sure no one was present. He walked in the restaurant, was going towards the kitchen and some guy was sitting at the bar and fit the exact description of the guy who my Aunt saw. The kitchen door is literally 5 feet from where the guy was sitting. He walks in the kitchen and asked who was at the bar, my Aunt said what are you talking about? He turned around and the guy was gone. He ran out freaking out.

My grandfather and I back in the day (maybe I was 12-13) went into the basement and he was screaming "ghost ghost! Come out! I want to meat you!". I was shitting bricks but never saw anything.

I don't know if I particularly believe in that kind of stuff, but it sure is interesting as hell, and creepy.

I went out with a Psychic a few times.

She must not have been very good. She didn't know that I was about to PIIHB.

And she showed up at a party after I had been planning to ditch her all week.

Only experience I have with a psychic was when my wife and I went to a palm reader on a whim one afternoon. Also there was my sister-in-law. Gave me a bunch of generic bullcrap about my lifeline on my right palm, etc. Then she said "I see two woman who play an important part in your future. A shorter woman with brown hair (sister-in-law) and a taller woman with blonde hair (my wife)." At that point I couldn't help but laugh a little. She finished her "reading" and I paid and left. Entertaining, but not worth the money. haha

but no, never talked to a psychic...talked to plenty of psycho's though, usually in the form of my ex-girlfriends.

crazy story though. not sure I believe it, guess I'd just have to experience it for myself before I could believe it.

My line of work is very much black and white. I work in corporate investigations so I need to see actual proof or it didn't exist.

If someone you have never met before says "your DEAD grandmother is showing me pictures of you and her on a tree swing on a hill overlooking a lake with a pink sailboat with pink pokeadot sails". and all of that is 100% true then you HAVE to believe.

The stuff I am choosing not to disclose is private info but it was as detailed as that!

btw: I love the L.I. Medium show and I was watching it the night before I met this girl.

I maintain that all mediums and psychics are charlatans.

What keeps them employed is the willingness and eagerness of their clients to believe that such abilities and realities exist. The only stories of mediums and psychics we read or hear about are the cases where these people happen to say something that correlates to, or resonates with, their clients. One is left to wonder why we are never exposed to the cases that just miss completely, which I am willing to wager far outnumber cases of the contrary. It is a sheer matter of probability. The mediums and psychics that manage to make a name for themselves are simply masters of reading body language and extrapolating information from what they can see and deduce.

The world would be an entirely different place if abilities of communicating with the dead and foreseeing the future were actually possible.

I would like to seriously welcome all of you to the reality in which they are not.

I don't think you can generalize such a diverse group. Given, there are fakes just like in many professions. And like many fakes, they are very good at deception and reading people. I mean anyone who has seen late night commercials for psychic readings knows there is crap out there. But thats like saying McDonalds cheeseburgers are gross, so all cheeseburgers must be gross. I'm definitely skeptical, especially the predicting the future part, but I won't rule any of it out when there are countless stories such as this. I've def heard a few from people I consider trustworthy.

But hey everyone has their opinions.
