Lowers deflect also. But not at the rate of the upper. The upper is closer to the centerline of the axles giving the rear end gobs more leverage on the upper control arm.

It is my understanding that having an adjustable UCA is CRITICAL with a one-piece driveshaft so that you can set pinion angle.

This is a big part of the reason that I am going with an adjustable right from the get go. I want a lightweight one-piece BAD!

steeda makes a non adjustable one for lowered vehicles. works great with my dynotech ds.

I keep hearing this too. I guess between the give in the converter and 3.15s in the rear, the auto cars don't shock the drivetrain so bad?

Having a vicious coupling (converter) between the trans and engine may soak up some of it, plus the power stays on at a WOT shift as opposed to unloading the drivetrain on shifts like a manual. On a good hooking hard shift with the auto you can definitely hear the UCA slam on the shift, but even if it does spin the tires some it never hops.

I'm sure there is a fairy simple reason for it, all I know is I couldnt believe that Ford would sell a car that wheel hopped as bad as that 2010 did, it was brutal..

Best educational vid I've seen in a while.

For those that don't want Solid or Poly in their uppers, the Roush unit is a very nice piece.

I'm going to swear by the Metco 2005-10 uca w/ the Metco 2011+ mount. Expensive, but quiet. I'm pretty sure it has a Delrin bushing.

Great video! It would be nice to see a video of your car with a aftermarket UCA.

I can say that piece looks very nice.....hmmm.

I have heard this multiple times...if it's not solid/poly and better than our stock rubber then what is it!? Alien Jelly!?

I inquired w/ Maximum Motorsports roughly 6 months ago about buying an aftermarket UCA/mount, and they told me, "the Roush piece I believe is the best designed upper that we have seen."

Is that with AdvanceTrac On or Off? When I turn mine off, the wheel hop goes away. I realize I still need to fix it but some confirmation would mean i'm not crazy.:bored:

The "best" UCA is subjective. Best for, what? Drag race, road course, wheel-hop reduction, drifting, daily driving or?

The Roush design is great, but, it still has it's downsides and is still a fixed length piece with a rubber-style bushing that can/will create deflection.

I have the Whiteline UCA, and on a stock ride height car -2 degrees is impossible to achieve. Best I can get it roughly -0.7. The arm does NOT have enough adjustability for a stock ride height car. Lowered car should not be a problem.
