Well as most of you know I'm switching to E85.. I'm bored so figured I'd make a thread on it.. Also this thread contains some stuff that I've done since being back in CA... So grab a beer this is going to be a long read lol..
So I got back to CA and starting playing around with my car.. First thing I did was have my buddy install my watts link for me.. Hands down best mod I've done and totally transformed my suspension setup. Changed the roll center to match the front setup and the car just rails..
Now the fun began.. Raced my buddies 2.9L Cobra making 615rwhp on my old pump 91 tune.. He's my best friend so it was all in good fun...
After that I figured I'd head back up to AED to have Shaun look at the tune.. Since this was the same tune from when the motor was built I figured it'd make more power.. My old numbers were like 600 on 91 and 627 on 93 on 16/17psi.. (My car has never really been a "numbers" car) Shaun built the new tunes.. Results were 605 on 91, and I wanna say like 640 on 104 with added timing.. No change in boost..
The biggest thing was that the car pulled waaaayy harder than before despite the numbers on the pump gas tune, I never ran the 104 tune.. The car drove great and I was a happy camper..
So I decided to run my other buddies Jasons 750rwhp 2.9L E85 Cobra on 21psi.. I decided that I'd probably get raped so I wasn't going to waste my money on putting 104 in it ahaha.. Well I did waaaay better than I expected on my 91 tune.. Actually crazy good considering the power diff.

Sadly during the 2nd run my blower decided to blow a seal on the case.. Oil went everwhere!!! Scared the shit out of me because it was making some knocking horrific noises from the blower.. It was a very interesting night to say the least lol!! LOL at my buddies!!
Well at this point I took it home and started planning my blower rebuild.. I came up with a good plan and ran it by Drew at AED.. He said sounds good, and that I should consider E85.. We chatted a bit and it was a done deal.. Plan was sell the 80's get ID1000's, my buddy was giving me is BAP, and I was going to run Teflon braided lines.. At this point I wanted to take advantage and powdercoat some more things in the engine bay..
The plan was for me to pull everything off, send the blower out do the Mafia, do the fuel lines. Drew was going to re-install the blower, injectors, BAP... Easy enough.. I got a good solid plan and went to work..
LOTS of OIL!!
Blower off
Everything else removed for P/C
Removed my old pushlock hose AND my stock lines.. Stock lines were a PITA.. So I sawzawed them lol
Ran the new SS Teflon coated lines and changed the filters in my A1000 to all SS stuff...
Powdercoating was done after they ****ed it up the first time and I demanded it be perfect!! Only charged me a 100 bucks total for everything since I was livid.. Color is Misty Black
Put the car back together again.. The night before I left for AED ID1000's show up..
Next morning loaded up my rig...
My son very happy to be winching daddies car up the badass trailer
My rig ready to rock and roll.. Yes the trailer is huge.. 36ft..
Unloaded at AED
Blower came in
BAP wired
Drew convinced me to get a Accufab T-body since my stock one was hideous..
And that's where I stand right now.. I think everything is mainly done.. Fuel system is good to go, waiting on a helicoil in #6 cylinder and then just tuning..
I'm not adding anymore boost and the car should be in the 670 range I think on corn.. I'm not really concerned with number just the safety aspect of E85.. You can't beat the safety of it all.. The car should be done in a few week maybe earlier.. Going to see if it can run mid 10's and call it a day lol..
I'll keep this posted as I get updates.. Sorry for the long read
