I did it a few years ago and saw less than 10hp with a lot of bolt ons. I wouldn't expect more than 5-10hp. They don't respond well to excessive timing NA.
Really bold move on this car. Congrats for having the balls to venture out. I like it besides the GS stripes, just because I don't like them on any car. I'd sport it if it had chrome rims to throw off the mass matte.
If you are going to mod it a lot, then there isn't a better platform to build on than a 5.0 with the 6r80 and SRA.
If you are going to cruise it and just do minor bolt ons, I'd go with the GT500.
Timing has a lot to do with it as well. Here is mine. Stock shortblock, full exhaust, 97 cobra cams, C heads, v2 at 6lbs and then 8lbs. 91oct. And of course an NA graph.

I would have a tune on that thing before it rolled off the dealership lot. So much to gain from a tune.
This is my exact plan. I have a 2.0 ecoboost fusion right now. The MKZ was out of my price range but in a few years I'll be all over it. It would be such a sleeper too, I bet it will take...
I don't understand how people go through life without applying for any credit cards or installment loans before their first major purchase. Then expect they will have a great credit history and are shocked when they don't.
It doesn't matter how much money you make or have in the bank. A cash...
Depends. It is a two stage paint vs. redfire which is three stage. So that helps. The red is tough to match, for a quality job they should blend it. Are they blending the hood, fenders, and possibly the doors, along with a full front bumper and the side skirts? Or just the bumper and side skirts...
No kids or nephews so I spend $0.00
I discourage people from buying me any gifts if possible. I just enjoy having a few days to spend with family and eat good food.
It was damn loud. When I had that setup I also had 4.56 gears. I wore earplugs on the one trip I took on the highway because between the exhaust and blower (centri with tial 50), it was deafening. Switched out the gears and mufflers shortly afterwards and now it is enjoyable to cruise the highway.
I had the Borla catback, o/r x, and longtubes and it was too loud. I cut out the borla mufflers and welded in some regular magnaflows. It is still loud, but sounds great. I like it better than the Borlas.
I haven't found a local place that can make an old fashioned to save their life. Best old fashioned I've had was at the MGM in Las Vegas at both the whiskey bar and at wolfgang pucks.
Now i just make my own with Bulleit Rye, old fashioned and blood orange bitters, sugar in the raw, and of...
Does anyone have a 28 spline diff left over from their 31 spline swap? I bought a 97 Tbird with an open diff that I am racing next weekend in a junk yard rally. Would like to get it swapped over this weekend for more traction.
I have conflicting info on this. Can you use a manual mach 1 ecu to control an auto? Or does it have to be an auto ecu?
I have some people saying yes, and others saying no.
Whats weird is I can get almost all of the auto tuning tables to show up in SCT's tuning software. But I am missing...
I recently got into doing my own tuning. I finally had a chance to compare 91oct vs e85. This is on a S trim v2 with an air to air intercooler peaking at 8lbs of boost. 91 oct tune was 17 degrees of timing and my e8 tune saw 23 degrees. It made half a lb less boost than my 91oct dyno run...
I have been wanting to get my car to run in closed loop but whenever I put it in closed loop the bank to bank fuel trims go nuts. One side will be .9 and the other 1.10 and they are constantly correcting in huge sweeps. In open loop the car will run within 5% of lamba and drives cherry, so I...
All of the tunes I've gotten seem to have a set WOT timing. I have somewhat limited knowledge when it comes to tuning but it seems like all the variable timing tunes are adjusted using variable cam timing. (3v and coyote engines)
I'm about to get a tune for e85 for my Vortech Mach 1. I want...
