ok so i took my 8.8 axel into a shop when i thought i had it all together when it was making horrible noises and the guy did more than just take the gears out hes took everything out. like the outer pinion bearing, oil slinger, oil seal and the thing that the drive shaft bolts onto. and now that i got new gear and am ready to install them i dont know what order it all goes in. heres some pics of what i have...
L to R... "thing that bolts to drive shaft", oil seal, oil slinger, outer pinion bearing...
this is the way i have been trying to put it all back together and when i tighten it down it doesnt spin? so im doing something wrong or missing something.
first is just the diff empty..
next is just the outer pinion bearing..
next oil slinger goes on top of bearing..
then next is the oil seal itself.. ( is this possibly up side down??)
then lastly is the "thing the drive shaft bolts to" (not sure what its called).
then i would just put the pinion up through and then tighten the bolt down.
so what am i doing wrong?
