Also I have 373's in my car with a 2.9 whipple. The gears were great with my 2.3 whipple at 600. I haven't been able to test my new set up but if it turns out to be to much for the street then i will change them. Maybe I will try 327's.

my 410s are coming out and 327s are going in. I would check with tousley for the gears, they beat summit by 80 bucks for the 327 FRPP gears. I plan on posi port with a lower pulley or a whipple in the future.

With 315/35r17s and shifting at 6500 rpm with 327 gears:
1st: 57 mph
2nd: 85 mph
3rd: 117 mph
4th: 152 mph

6th gear at 60 mph: 1618 rpm
6th gear at 70 mph: 1887 rpm
6th gear at 80 mph: 2157 rpm

I wouldn't go with anything lower than 355s on these cars unless they are purpose built for the drag strip. Just my opinion.

kenne bell states that 3.27s are the best gear.

even in 5.0 mag they had a new gt 500 dynoed with 3.73s than with 3.27s with no other changes the 3.27s put down more power and tq. to the tune of 50hp and 70 tq, at the wheels. they didnt know why..they that it was just the cut of the gears, do a search on 5.0 mag about it .makes you think..i done put all my mags up.so i dont know what issue it was.

Like alot of people, my car had port/pulleys/solid axle. i had 410s and they pulled so hard all the way to 150mph. My opinion wouldnt go less than 3.73s(depending on mods). Mine was at the track alot but as long as i drove soft it would still get 18-20 mpg's on HWY.
It's been almost 4 yrs since I had my 03 vert, but im heading to Bama to pick up my 04 coupe this weekend, and will be planning for 3.73s.

I love my 3.55 gears! I had 3.27 in my 02GT then upgraded to 3.73 and it was nice improvement, but for my Cobra I think the 3.55 ratio is perfect.

I'm on the same boat almost done building mine and I'm thinking about gears I want 3.73s but our track isn't all that great and I don't want to be all over the place 2.8h 4.0 upper 4lbs lower lts and all other supporting mods I wonder if 3.27s will help with traction and pull alot harder up top

I had 355's blew the rear end on a dyno. I now have 373's I love them, I am so happy I went with them. The 355's were blah. The coupe I have has 410's. I personally love my 373's. The 410's I did not go with cause it sucks on the highway. It is awesome for the track though. When you ask a question like this everyone is going to have a different opinions. There has to be a way to drive a car like yours with 373's so you can decide.

im sure you will end up modding the car more and more. if you go with 3:73's the low end will suck with a 6 speed.

as other guys have suggested i would go with 3.27, you get a nice high top end. and can manage the low end power of the whipple.

i just bought M-4010-A88. ordering Detroit True Trac, Gears and install kit tonight, going to bank tomorrow then ordering FTBR kit. still searching for spare IRS.

i dont know what part of Florida you live in but i will sell you my IRS for $500. the catch is that the passenger side halfshaft is broken. it has 4.10's in it. let me know if ur interested. the car is just sitting till i find a SRA to build. no luck finding one in my area or west palm.
