I always wanted to see a comparison for something like this. For some reason thought the ecoboost would have taken it.

Does anyone have any real world towing fuel economy on the two?

Around town, the EB seems to get better mileage, but you ask that 3.5 to work a little, and I've seen it get pretty bad mileage.

IMO, give me the old school V8 for work duty.

I wouldn't trade my 6.2 for anything. The sounds this thing makes are awesome! Besides. Ford is being pretty strict with any mods to the Eco as far as warranty goes. Milage wise I get 12 around town and 14-15 onthe highway. Keep in mind that's with 4.11's and 35 inch tires. Most 6.2's that aren't a raptor do better. Towing 6k I got 12.7 round trip. That was with some pretty big hill climbs as well. People ask me what is the best part about my raptor? While the suspension and looks are awesome. The motor is what I enjoy most on a day to day basis

I rock a Duramax every day at work. Other than injectors, wheel bearings, blown head gaksets, and the transmission being retarded it's been a great truck lol. Oh and it gets 9-13 mpg depending on the load, 15mpg at best unloaded. :rolling:

Can't be any worse than the the long line of lemon diesel engines that Ford seems to roll with. We are already seeing issues with their new 6.7. Not sure how you get that bad of mileage.

Yes, I dropped the nuclear bomb. They all have their issues.

My friend has the 2wd eco f150. Ran 14.2 at 96mph with a muffler and a filter. It get's about 12 to 13 mpg when towing.

Heres a 9.3 1/8 mile pass. Car has been 9.2's.

This is going to make all of the EGOboost guys on the F150 forums cry.:poke:

Both are going to respond well to intake and tune. Ford really has the drive by wire jacked up on the stock 6.2L tune. The throttle blade is only allowed to fully open at rpms over 4500. Tuners can fix this and make them A LOT more responsive.
