It's suppose to take care of harmonic vibrations, but it doesn't seem to work so well, especially on a fixed pumpkin. It may work better on a solid axle, but even that is debatable. I removed mine from both the 03 and from my 98, and have never noticed any difference.

it helps tune the mechanical resonant frequency of the chassis. if you look under a mercedes, they hang weights all over the place. its why they feel so solid.
I remember hearing that it is tuned specifically for the stock gear ratio. Is that true? or does it not matter which ratio you install?
