Air Condition gone bad..

Well the summer heat has kicked in and I tried using the a/c for the first time since august, only to find it doesn't work. Just blows out equal temperature air as the vent option. I know there is a million things that can be wrong with the a/c but.....

-What can I look for to know if its the compressor, coolant, ect..

-What can I do to provide more information to help ya guys out with pinpointing the problem?

-Should I just go to a shop?

I would see if it is still charged with refrigerant first. then you can go from there.
Get a shop to look at it. hopefully it's not too bad.
