another tranny question

could having too much fluid in the trans cause a grind going into 3rd when the fluid is hot.
That's what I have going on. When the trans is cold, it shifts fine, but after driving for awhile and the trans is hot, it will grind sometimes going into 3rd. But only 3rd.

I'm pretty sure I have about 3.2, but hell, I may have put more than I thought.

If you're close to 3.2 you're fine...I have 3.5qt's of royal purple in mine and it works like it's supposed to / like it did before I changed the fluid. Might have a shift fork bent a little...? I've had 4 trans replaced do to the 3rd gear sync row takin a shit. In the process of finding a "bullet proof" T56 with bell housing.
