California smog

Here's a question. It's been a long time since I lived in Cali and I can't remember if this is true. I live in Georgia now, if I buy I new '03 Cobra here, do I have to order one with Cali emissions in order to take it back to Ca later? Or, can I just buy what is on the lot here and take it Cali when I go? Reason I ask is because I'm planning on moving back soon and I don't want to have to leave the Cobra behind.

If it is not a CA emissioned car, then it has to have 7500 miles on it before it can be registered. (going off my poor memory)
