Every once in a while, when in stop and go traffic she drops down in rpms then recovers

But this last week, it's done it way more often

And, over the last week, if I start it cold, it doesn't want to fire right up. Normally the fuel injection system fires it right up to a good idle until she's warmed up.

I cleaned the air filter and maf sensor and that didn't fix a thing

Thoughts?

Change your spark plugs and clean the IAC valve

I've had similar issues. Mine would cut out, usually when hitting the brakes. Car also had trouble finding idle after a wot pull, and every now and then it wouldn't start up on the first crank.

I cleaned the IAC at the recommendation of other posters. Haven't noticed the issue since, but they've always been intermittent and i don't log a lot of miles so only time will tell if it's fully resolved

I had similar issues. Cleaned MAF with appropriate cleaner, but no joy. :( Did a few other things (check for vacuum leaks, add in fuel injector cleaner, etc), still no joy. o_O Then I took the MAF out again, and this time I sprayed it with about 10 good shots of the spray and let it carefully dry. Put it back in and WOOHOO :D..... it ran perfect again. So it's worth doing a deep clean of the MAF IMHO. Good luck.

If you have an 2003 cobra there was a TSB that had a computer flash that corrected the problem.

I have had issues like this.

car 100%stock..

early on,,pcv valve..ev153..

this when changed would stop my every blue moon stall..idle surge.

as car aged..it started to get more common..

I had issue with car jerking when in high gear going slow
while chasing this issue..found coils being weak as the cause..
never had a code or engine light

after new coils..1st thing I noticed..car stopped the stall thing..

it' been 200k miles since..not once has it stalled..

I do get the occasional idle surge at red lights still.

coils have been the only electrical thing changed on mine..

coils aren't cheap,

I found someone with a set of 8 to try for testing..

than purchased a set from Ford racing..lowest price on oem coils at the time..

Make sure to check if you have any vacuum leaks. Especially the rubber intake hose behind the blower

Same here man. Always best to start with the smaller things and work your way up from there.

Fuel filter was changed and it's much, much, better

Thanks all!!

PS. My big hands trying to get the lines off... Not fun. But it's all good now
