If I swapped to 96-98 solid rear that is a bit shorter. Are their any mustang rims that would have a different backspacing and a deeper lip?

some wheels can be custom ordered and you can change backspacing/offset. American Racing torque thrust II's are an example. Also CCWs. There are a lot of wheels out there but not many of the cheap chinese wheels most people run are gonna have a huge lip.

Just curious how much shorter do you think it is? Can you guess? What you want if you're going to be getting wheels is not neccesarily just a deep dish wheel but an offset and backspacing that works for your car.

Dont do it. My buddy has a 95 rear in his 99 Cobra and it looks terrible. He is using a 1" spacer and the wheel still tucks just as bad as stock

^He could run a 2 inch spacer or get some custom wheels with a huge lip (less backspacing). If I was going SRA I'd get an older axle too.
