And agreed x2 on the innovation needed in racing. No car manufacturer in their right mind would dump insane money into a completely experimental car that has to stay in a lab, but you put a race-track down and everybody wants to be the fastest.

+65,000 on that concept! Then we would see some real innovation coming off the drawing boards.

That's what I wish they'd do. Personally, I think the ultimate racing series would have a formula that essentiall says "you get XXXX ergs of energy for each race. I don't give two shits how you use them, or what you car looks like, but that's all you get." Then, let the designers go wild.
