If you guys are serious about weight savings you should not be overlooking unsprung rotating mass. This area of weight savings is THE most critical as far as performance is concerned.

Check out our lightweight 2 pc rotors with aluminum hats:

Unsprung, rotating mass weight savings are as follows:

Front: 11.04# Rear: 4.88#

For a total of 15.92#.

when i removed my shaker 1000 sub box i placed it on a scale and it only tipped 38lbs. Also when i removed the back seats they only tipped the scales at a little over 12lbs.

I knew the back seats were light, but 12 pounds is akin to a feather

wow. i didnt know those Alcoa SS wheels were so heavy :read:

our 3 piece Chicanes weigh in at 26lbs. and the majority of the weight is at the very center. the actual hoops are very light.

Correct, the rears are fine for road race duty. But not the fronts unfortunately. The fronts are fine for street and strip duty. But because the Shelby is such a heavy vehicle and it has copious amounts of horsepower, the demands on the front rotors for road racing are brutal. We are unfortunately unable to supply a front rotor with more mass than this.

I used the fronts on the street for three years and about 3,000 miles and they look like brand new yet.

Thanks to blaine alot of the weight was taken out already for me.. he also did alot of good suspension upgrades too. Here are some more weight we shaved off Ill get the weight of all the new pieces and post them up when I can!

That is pretty awesome! A whole lot of carbon fiber parts on this Shelby. Look forward to seeing a comparison of OEM vs. carbon fiber parts.

every major 'racing seat' manufacturer should have some direct bolt ins available for the S197.
