Today I went from tired nitto dr 555s to new m/t et streets and it grips like glue almost to good Kinda taking a little fun out of the car actually for a street car to mess around with. Think I may need a whipple 2.9/ #80s and a better fuel system to bring the smile back.

yeah i bought the car in the winter with the low temps when ive been out with it and nittos it felt like a animal blazing them up at 60MPH + BY JUST STEPPING ON THE GAS IN 3RD. Finnaly warm out today in the 70s and put on the new soft m/t drs and amazed how much different it feels. 1st gear is now actually useable and I need another 100+ hp now dam it.

They will put you in the seat thats for sure. I had nittos for a while and will never look back after getting some MT et streets. Theres still plenty of fun to be had and you can bet the car is much faster.

What you need is e85 and throw some real boost and timing at it....that will put the smile back
I wish. No e85 in ct. Already running torco I guess a meth kit would be something to look at. Not sure how much more timing/hp I could gain over the torco tune its already @ 21 degrees.

No man, that's a good thing! At first I admit, it was a blast to blow off the Nitto's whenever and at pretty much whatever speed. However, I much prefer my sticky tires. The two biggest reasons are; they are actually much safer, keeping traction while speed shifting 3 rd gear is a good thing. The most important reason I like my sticky tires is because, a car with half, or even a third of the HP you have, will embarrass you if all you do is spin when you honk it off and go. Spinning is fun, you gotta admit that, but, sticking all that torque to the pavement and shoving your eyeballs into the back of your skull is a rush too!

My invo's don't hook for shit. Spinning all the time was fun for a little but I can't wait to hook lol. I have brand new 305/35 R888's in the garage awaiting install.

I ran those nittos till they were slicks. The 3.55s now do feel like they are to tall of a gear now that the car is hooking up. Thinking the next mods may be 355s and I need a shift light cause its hard to keep your eye on the tach and if you happen short shift with all the traction it almost lugs. Car is sure a lot different with the m/ts. I never thought they would hold that good on the street. Starting to wonder about the stock axles/ halfshafts.

With the nittos it seemed that they kept the motor in its powerband by keeping the wheel speed up. Even though they spun a little in 2nd and 3rd it was still pulling and that seemed to keep it up in the power range. Like I said maybe Im just short shifting not be used to the traction only took it out for a hour with the m/ts.

I dont make a ton of power but these nittos used to hook every time I'd stomp on it from a roll, now they are getting low on tread and they spin, me gusta. :)

I had the same felling when I swapped to MT's but I can assure you that your moving out! Just get beside someone and let them tell you how "slow" those MT's have you moving ')

I went from the bald 275 goodyear f1's to a 315 MT and it was a night and day difference on my pullied cobra. I found out how lazy of a shifter I was with the MTs because with the old tires I couldn't speed/power shift without kicking the rear end out. My friend and I put my tires on his 700 horse e85 2.3 whipple setup and it started to slip his clutch. After a few hard 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear pulls we were smelling the clutch slipping.

When i bought my cobra it had some cheapo 275 wide tires on 10.5 in reps. You could spin them in any gear. Yes its cool to spin em easy. First thing i did to my cobra was put the Toyo Drag Radials on it. Hooking up is great! It just slams you in your seat and you go! I barely chirp second with these tires.

Spinning isn't fun. Just have to make sure that you are higher in the rev range when you let loose as it won't "feel" as fast compared to the spinning before. I'd rather hook and get moving myself.
