I also agree with the idea that everyone needs to slow down in construction zones, despite the animosity most mich-ganders feel towards their construction zone workers.
But I don't respect the local police in our state one bit. The "System" here in Michigan has shown nothing but disrespect and over abusive use of police powers.
I've been pulled over twice for tinted windows at 2:00am in the morning by local police,
I got pulled over once in a ford test vehicle that had the new halogen lights that looked blue at 1:30 in the afternoon. Very sunny day. The officer stated to me he had pulled me over due to the unstock color in the vehicles headlight setup. I asked him how could he notice something so trivial during a sunny day in june? He then got pist off and started snapping at me and writing a ticket for illegal equipment till I whipped out the automakers exemptions for test vehicles. I think he just got more ticked off while walking away.
But on top of that we have a court here in Michigan called the 48th district court which serves 3 of the richest counties here in Michigan. This court has been under scrutiny by newspapers and journalist for awhile due to over obsessive ticket giving nature by the locals.
This court recently remodeled the whole inside in black marble and expensive cherry wood benches. And added a second wing to the court based on “Such good business”.
I’m all for the state police monitoring construction zones and ticketing accordingly. I’m not for police officers that sit outside for Ford motor plants and what for modified vehicles to come out and give tickets.
To top off my early days of disrespect for the police, one of my first jobs back in the day was working at a 7-11 while going through college. And after listening to what came out of these peoples mouths every day and night about the public they serve. All I have to say is that police feel that they public doesn’t respect them, but it’s all brought on themselves.
Oh YA my wife’s a cop too.. I don’t like her either!
