careless driving

just got a ticket for careless driving, and want to know if I should to have a lawyer represent me.

Just put in the new charger in the car and not a day later got a ticket. :bash:

I was at a stop light, reved the motor, and let it come back to an idle. When the light turned green I took off fast but not full throttle, tires were not spinning, and when I came up to a cop in a parking lot he had his lights on. He got me for the careless driving. The ticket says that ''took off from the light as he was racing, and spinning tires, as he saw me he decellerated.''

You need to give us the circumstances around the ticket. If you have a defense, careless isnt as bad as reckless, you can probably handle it yourself.

Since you editted your statement, it sounds like you can make a cogent case before the judge. I would go myself and talk to the prosecutor before the hearing and see if you can work out a plea to a lessor charge while paying the fine.

Good luck
