In a recent VDH podcast, it was discussed that petroleum professional(s) have stated that it would take ~10 years to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR).
Apparently as some think, you just don't buy crude oil and dump it in tanks.
It requires special types of crude, its processing, and layering, to achieve proper, safe, and usable long term petroleum storage.
