Hey guys. As the title states I hear a thud/thump under the dash when I initially turn on the A/C. The A/C works fine blows cold. Has anyone ever experienced such a problem? Any ideas what it could be?
Thx.
It's the plenum door inside the cars heater box. It is all vacuum controlled to move door between the hot and cold. Something is just leaking down between engine running and being turned off.
There are a couple actuators and a manifold and a plug with the tiny hoses that connect everything. If you take your glove box out you could see a lot or maybe hear where its leaking. I dont know of any vac canisters.
Ok thanks. Did a bit of poking around and found out that there is a reservoir tank bolted to the heater box. Maybe it's leaking, will have to take it out and look for any cracks and if it's leaking air will replace it. Luckily NPD has a replacement.
NPD also has A/C damper door switch assembly so now comes the hard part of finding out which part has gone AWOL. Oh Joy!!!
