My computer from time to time is used by family members that come over from kids to adults. So my question is: How do I disable my C: Drive from "Guest Users" and ONLY allow them to access internet and maybe 1 file for the "Guest User" to save their files and view their files only? Is that even possible? If not, what are my closest options, from what I mentioned?

Thanks

Edit: I tried making a "Guest User Account - Limited" and it still allows them to click on my C: Drive and look through it. Am I doing it wrong?

That would have been the case on my previous computer before it fried. But on this one, it's mainly some personal pictures from "College Days" and the simple fact that I hate snooping people on my computer. At the same time, I don't want to be a jerk to my family members and not allow access from my computer that is in the living room.

Yeah I hear you, I'm just busting your balls a bit. I'm in the same situation with my comp. I've got a lot of pictures that disprove my 'innocent' facade from a good 5 years up at school that have no business being discovered. I'm also not ashamed to say that I've got an asston of porn on my comp that I don't need my little brother snooping around through. Let me know if you find out anything.

Just make a guest user profile and set their permissions to fit your needs. Then just throw your personal stuff in your My Documents folder.

Or you could just put your personal stuff in a password protected folder...

I don't believe there is much you can do if you use xp home.
True because even "My Documents" are on the C: drive. Buried fairly deep, but they can be found.

Looks like some neat info in that link.

Any folders I don't want found, I name them something weird, place them somewhere deep and make them "hidden".

You will have to remember the name and go back and search for it later.

This has been the best way for me to keep things away from prying eyes.

Guys, it's simple. Right click on your desktop, go to New, go to New Compressed (zipped) Folder. Open the folder you just created. Add into the folder the contents you don't want accessible by anyone but you. Once done go to File. Click on Add A Password. Enter a password and confirm the password. Click ok.

There you go, a password protected folder. Quick, simple and no more goofy burrying and renaming of files where you might not find them later on...

If you don't want people even knowing what type of files are within that password protected folder simply put them in a password protected folder within a password protected folder.
