As the thread title states, how many plan to skip the '15 and wait for 2016? I'm on the fence and it's killing me.

Currently I'm on the 2016 side for reasons:

Obviously 2015 is a completely new platform, work out kinks
2016 GT350.... likely out of my price range but I'm curious what may spill over option wise to GT
Prices will drop, dealers are still marking over MSRP around here.

I'm not really interested in another gt but if enough goodies from the gt350 trickle down or they throw some aluminum panels on it like the f150 id be interested. I think there's a good chance ford is holding back until the new camaro has its moment and then will fire back.

For all the obvious improvements the 15 has over the 14 the bottom line is its not any faster where it counts for me

I'm waiting as well... I just need details to make my decision. I'm all about now though....so the suspense is killing me.

I thought about it, but said screw it and pick my 15 up on Thursday. The new Sync doesn't interest me, and I plan on supercharging so any little horsepower bump is moot to me. Prices are below invoice everywhere, so it's not too bad.

Nope... I'm getting a 2015. I waited for a bit later in production to order, but it just got assigned a VIN on Thursday.

I highly doubt many/any features from the gt350 will trickle down to the 2016. Maybe the 2017, remember that the Boss 302/GT500 goodies didn't trickle down to the GT until 2013.

The 2015 has aluminum hood/fenders if you weren't already aware.

No didn't know that. Just know my 2013 is heavier than I'd like and the 2015 is even heavier. My mt-82 might have taken a shit today so if that got changed to whatever the gt350 has it would be a plus.

The new Sync doesn't interest me

I thought I had read something about that, what's the scoop? I thought it was the App link, but all of the syncs are advertising that already. It would be cool to have google maps in the dash.

Good point, I'd still kill myself if ford did something crazy like 49,999 for the gt350. In my dreams though.

From my 13 track pkg to me new 15 PP all I can say is that it's night and day. Personal preference to not wait for the 16 and just get the 15 here. Think about this.... many are waiting for the gt350 which is going to be about 60k from all the rumors. That's 20k more than my fully loaded 15. I'll stick that additional 20k in it and make it cool. Just my opinion. Majority of the issues have been worked out. And sync 3 is cool but nobody knows what kinda issues it will run into as well.

The trans in the Gt350 is a Tremec T56 and I HIGHLY doubt they will replace the crappy mt82 in the Gt's with that T56 anytime soon. That being said I went from a 2011 GT to a 2013 Boss to the S550, had mt82 clutch, trans and clutch pedal problems with the 2011, no problems with the Boss, and zero problems with the S550 mt82 so far.. I get the occasional grind going into 3rd but nothing crazy, no whines or anything and I just turned 2k miles on it yesterday so I am HOPING that most all of the problems have been worked out of the mt82.

I'm getting a 2015. It's just time for a new car for me. I've been patiently waiting, saving more money, making more money, and driving this old 96 for 10 years now. I'm making 3 times the money I was in 2005 when I bought my GT and there's just no reason for me to be driving this old 300hp beater anymore. It'll make a fantastic project car for someone else.

Regardless of what comes out, the 2015 will still be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000x better than my current GT. And I LOVE guard metallic, which may not even be offered in 2016.

Price of the 2015 are down. But now. Most of the cars on the lot are now later in production run. Aka better built and less issues. Not huge changes for 2016. Why wait?

I don't blame you from a 96'! That's quite an upgrade, enjoy!

I do agree a lot with you, but being in this industry, first model year bugs are rarely mechanical but software related. Unless you have a warranty related issue you could not get a software update. I struggled for months with the 2011 F150 ecoboost because of misfires... all related to condensation in the intercooler...That dragged on for nearly a year. The 2015 is nice because it's not a new engine though.

There is very little difference in the 15 vs 16 argument. Only Triple Yellow and Guard will be discontinued and probably Grabber Blue and Green added. Sync 3 and not much else will be the difference.
I ordered my 15 day 1 the order banks opened and do not regret it at all. Although I do have my eye on a 16 GT350R (yes I am an addict lol)
