for dummies.. lol.
So you just bought a mgw shifter, well, this is what you get.
So first, you take out the shfiter bezel, it is held by four clips, be sure you don't lose them..
then you take out the shifter handle
Then 4 bolts hold the rubber pad
then you can take out the 4 bolts holding the shifter, i bolted the shifter handle again to make it easier to remove the shifter base
then remove the gasket or silicone if you have some..
be sure you put the bushing that goes into the shifter in the mgw shifter
then put some silicone around the base
it should look like this
bolt the 4 bolts on the shifter
then adjust your shifter stops, put your shifter in 3rd or 4th gear, and adjust them, they should barely touch each other
then put the nut, so the bolt doesn't move..
if you bought the shifter inner dust boot, put it on now
then cut the stock rubber pad, so it fits the new mgw shifter
put the handle, and adjust it the way you like it..
This is how i put mine
then you can feel the difference..
i bought a composite race knob, just screw it instead of the stock knob, tighten it with a allen key and you're good to go
