i have to get a new transmission HELP!!!!!!

wow tonight it was raining and i was leaving a freinds house of course i was going to put a little spin on my tires so i had it in first...then i got to put it in second my foot on the clutch and i tried to put it into second sounds of grinding metal were all over so i let the rpm trickle a little and got it in then as soon as the gears were engaged i put my foot back on the gas lightly just to roll away and i was grinding....tell me have i lost my transmission because when ever i put it into second and try to drive the gears go grinding away .PLEASE HELP ME AS MUCH AS U CAN!!!!!!
