Hey all, I've searched the forums, but many threads are old. I did seem to find information on the adapters made by PIE. Well, there is a new one out, specifically for the Ipod. Now, I know how to install the adapter and electronically how to connect everything up, what is unique about the AUX-POD is that is uses the port connector and provides control (back, forward, power) of the ipod. It offers true line level outputs. The link is below:

Questions:

1. Does anyone have experice with this product?
2. Since my car is an 03, I know the 20-pin adapter with the RCA line level inputs would work -- is there an 03 Cobra owner that has not been succesful with this harness?
3. Should I simply wait, and replace the factory heat unit with an aftermarket unit with line inputs and go that route?

Decisions, decisions -- just give me your thoughts, I want to do this right, and I want to do it once =)

IMO, buy a new head unit.
I still can't find one I like so in the meantime, I'm using this DLO Transpod FM
It works really, really well and we found out by accident that a vehicle following behind can pick up the signal for about a block and a half.

Thanks Racerat, I'll chek it out now, anyone else have reviews of products they have used? How about the adapter used to put a different head unit and use the stock amps/speakers? How about the long term test of the aux in adapter... I think coleman has one...

Bueller? Frye?

Thanks-

John

What is wrong with the iTrip??? I was considering it. A friend has it and was saying (intoxicated I'll add) how cool it was. Is it not? It seemed pretty cool and only $35

I'll sell ya mine. LOL
It worked in the Jeep, my 99 GT and the home system, but wouldn't work at all in the Cobra or the Lightning. The signal isn't as clear as the one I have now either.

I think I want the CDA-9833 (for now) it looks like it has the features I'd like plus it has the ability to interface (eventually) with the ipod module.

I can't wait, I got the 4th gen with the 40 gb drive, I'm going to rip my 400 CD collection and go itunes crazy. Happy b-day to me!

It is hard to believe that you had an issue with the iTrip.. The one I have used has worked flawlessly..

Anyone interested in any Apple products let me know. I will work you a deal.. Drop me a PM.

Well I've since found out that the iTrip is one of the most often returned products and the boards are full of unhappy people. I'm not the only one.
