When removing the intake on our cars do we have to drain the antifreeze and remove the crossover tube? Does not seem so but some write ups say remove the crossover.
Thanks Guys

You don't have to completely drain it I guess, but you do have to pull the crossover. The crossover has tabs that bolt on to the flange on the intake. I don't think you can get the intake out without pulling the crossover. Why risk getting water in your combustion chambers just to save maybe 20 minutes of work?

I've lost count how many times I've removed the intake, probably more than 50, and never removed the cross over. Loosen/remove the crossover bolts and slide back out of the way of the intake lid. Remove intake lid, than remove lower intake. Very simple and no risk involved.

You had better luck than I did :)

Agreed. Its doable to slide the intake in but its always nice to be able to drop the intake right onto the gaskets and not risk shearing anything.

IMHO, drop the level of coolant and pull the x-over.
