My only concern with the 888 now is that it won't fit without rolling my fenders which I want zero parts of.

From my understanding the R888's tend to run on the wider side of things.

I ran several 315's on my Cobra and never had a clearance problem even with wider European tires. I end up eventual running 3/8 spacers, but not because I need to add inner clearance, but because I wanted to get the tires more flush with the rear fender. I still didn't run into clearance issues. On my old Roush Stage 2 some 295 BFG KD's would rub the fenders like a bitch.

I run the 305 555rs in the back and they hook fine, although I do have a lot less hp than you. lol

I dont think people give enough credit to them but maybe its just me.

Agreed.

555R's are a much better tire than people tend to credit them for.

set up looks sweet man why the spacers to get the wheel flush or clearance ?

Both at full extension it looks like this with no spacer but once pushed in it would clear I hate close tolerances so some for a little extra Clarence and look. I also rolled fenders but as u can see did not have to but I will be going bigger rim eventually.

man thats close ! thats why i was leaning towards the 305 nitto 555r. But this is a dumb question how do those tires act with tire shine ? I've noticed the nittos tend to get streaky and annoying

Nitto and Toyo, are pretty much the same company. They partnered with one another in the late 70's. I think Nitto tends to be more the niche tire brand, and Toyo seems to be the more mainstream tire brand between the two.

I've noticed that harder tires seem to shine better than softer ones IMO from what I've ran. Maybe they don't pick up and hold dirt as much, but IDK.

I had heard they were the same company. Also kinda noticed they don't seem to flush up with the bead to well the 888. They kinda look like they all bulge to some extent.

I dont by a tire because it looks one way I have used alot nittos over 12 years and 15 sets on my twinturbo nissan and the R888 to me is a better tire. To each there own. My 888 should be on an 11 inch rims but can decide on which forged 11inch I want.

I am the same way with my fox body. I buy the tire that gets me down the 1/4 the fastest but the cobra is the take my old lady to dinner car so its looks before beef. I was dead set of the kdw2 but it looks like they are phasing out the 295 because every place is sold out and discount tire direct rep said they wouldn't see a set for months if that.

R888 all the way around, and I have never had an issue. I like the Toyo's the best out of all the different tire manufacturers.

If I was all 100% performance I would but this car will never see the strip. The most it'll see is a little spirited street beating. That's why I wanted a more street oriented front

Well fellas i went with 295/35/18 bfg kdw2 out back and 275/35/18 bfg kdw2 simply because of tread life, should be decent with my power level, and i won't have to worry about rubbing
